I am the type of person who hates dentists but also has a job that consumes lots of time. This combination means I have not taken care of my teeth well enough and in some cases I have put off needed work for decades.

I was having problems with both wisdom teeth pain, an old crown, and a cavity. After an exam, Dr. Durkin discussed using Sedation Dentistry. She said I could get all the work done in one sitting. With my schedule, this sounded like a good plan so I booked the appointment.

Yesterday I had 3 wisdom teeth pulled, two crowns, several other fillings and a deep cleaning. In the past this would have taken many appointments and pain spread out over weeks if not months. Given the amount of work done, I am shocked at how little pain I am feeling today. I am not perfect, but am planning on going back to work tomorrow.

I would recommend both Dr Durkin and the Conscious Sedation process highly especially for people like me with irrational fear of dentists.

The only dental care I experienced here was a regular teeth cleaning, which, by the way, was great. Normally I'd be difficult to impress by a dental practice since my previous dentist was so darned good, but this dental experience was by far the most pleasant ever. Their customer service is top notch; everyone there is so friendly. Dr. Durkin is great to converse with, so much that I was able to relax and be comfortable the whole time. It's not about being talkative (I had a hygienist in the past who was quite agitating with the motor-mouth droning actually); she really is humorous and engaging. She was also very willing to answer my questions as well. I will definitely be coming back again in six months! thank you dr durkin

I don't like the dentist very much, but Dr Durkin is very gentle and makes you feel very comfortable. I recommend them to anyone.

When I go to a dentist my first priority is the quality and profeesionalism of the service provided. Dr. Anna has magic hands. When it is about some painful procedure (extraction, rootcanal, etc) I drive to San Diego to see Dr. Anna.

My 13 year old son recently needed 3 teeth to be extracted before making braces. He refused to go to any other dentist.

I have a fear of anything dental. Imagine, I was almost crying when my dentist Anna Durkin told me my wisdom teeth had to be removed. She did a great job explaining my x-rays, the procedure to me . On the day of my surgery, I was a little nervous, but the entire staff made me feel at ease, and Dr.Durkin took care of those wisdom teeth in no time flat...no, really, it only took 20 minutes for her to extract them. I thought it would take about an hour and a half. During my recovery weekend, Dr.Durkin was even kind enough to call me to see how I was doing. Seriously, I have faith in dentists again.

I am a dentist's best client as long as I remember myself. Is it genes or too much antibiotics in my childhood - I don't know why my teeth get holes so easily. When I was thirty my front teeth were already covered by veneer and I had 8 crowns - thanks to a good dentist I found in New Jersey. Eleven years ago we moved to San Diego and I started my quest to find a good dentist here. Well, it's easier to meet a princess than a good dentist. The first dentist was beyond the horrible. He could not clean my teeth properly so he simply drilled holes in my enamel where he found stains. He was very proud of himself, I retreated all in tears and started to ask everybody if they can recommend me a dentist. One of my husband's colleagues named me a doctor who she thought was ok. I got stuck with that dentist for many years. He was cleaning my teeth and did a few fillings rather clumsily - and that was about it. Meanwhile my teeth were slowly deteriorating but I could not trust him to fix them. I kept searching for a doctor with smart hands - no one was happy with their doctors enough to give recommendations. Good dentists are rare. When one of my friends finally recommends me Dr. Durkin, I had so many bad teeth with cavities and inflammations that it started to affect my general health. I came to Dr. Durkin's office in need of one tooth extraction, new bridge, several crowns and complete remake of all front teeth. Doctor looked at my xrays and patiently explained what I need and why. All her explanations made sense to me so I decided to give it a try. After the first root canal I realized that Dr. Durkin has smart hands and an excellent education. One and a half years later I can smile wide again, all my bad teeth are fixed and I know they will never be in a bad shape again since I found the doctor who is looking after me. My whole family - my husband and both of my kids are going there. I feel lucky - because I consider it luck to find a good dentist. I also feel grateful. Thank you, doctor Durkin!

Simply the best dentist I have ever gone to. Dr durkin has done a lot of dental work for me and I've never been more comfortable when I'm there. All of the staff there is thoughtful and kind. Best of all, they're extremely good at what they do. Going to the dentist used to be a terrible chore I would dread, but now I almost look forward to it. Dr durkin helped me with a new crown for a front tooth. She wouldn't settle for anything less than a perfect match and kept sending the crown back until it looked exactly like my other teeth. Other dentists are quick to apply hardware so they can get you out the door but Dr durkin is different. Most importantly, the new crown really is perfect (so much better than the one I had before). The office itself is spotless and state of the art. Since going to Emagen, I've now come to realize that the dentist doesn't have to be a painful experience. I've had several deep cavities filled that didn't hurt at all. Last week I called with a toothache and they got me in within hours to check it out. anton is always helpful in explaining the charges so that you're not in the dark with what's going on with your insurance. you won't leave the office wondering what you just spent so much money on. anton, along with the assistants are fantastic) and Dr durkin all make an effort to know you as a person and not just a customer
