Jason Knack (formerly of Wine Lover in Hillcrest) brings his passion for local ingredients and good wine to his new venture in Rancho Santa Fe. The long bar up front and floor-to-ceiling, clear glass wine cellars signal that this is a wine bar first and foremost. The wine list is impressive, with several hard-to-find and pricey blends poured by the glass. I was immediately comfortable when entering Decanter because of the fun and relaxing atmosphere. The dim lighting was inviting and decor was modern and elegant.
The wait staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was very flavorful with perfect portions.
I've been twice now to the restaurant, the first time was for appetizers and drinks. The appetizers were delicious and Tonya makes a yummy cocktail.
My second visit I had dinner and wine. The meals not only looked appetizing, they tasted great, and the wine the server suggested was perfect with my meal. Me and my friends really enjoyed our experience and will be back for more!
