No customer services. I just experience very poor customer service from low rate appliances. My washing machine stop working two days ago and I’m skeptical of using services without a referral but didn’t have any luck looking for one. So I decided to take my chances without one. I Google it and All Pro Appliances came up(aka low rates appliance) and talk to a customer rep.

I was told that it was $45 just to come out there and any repairs will be $65 plus parts. That’s sound reasonable so I schedule for a technician to fix my machine when he arrived, took one look at it and told me that the lid switch had to be replaced and it would be $190. I had ask him was the 15% discount was included and he said yes. I agreed to it but wasn’t satisfied with the price because I didn’t know how much the part would cost and waited for him to write the invoice. After receiving the invoice he didn’t list the itemized cost and I ask him to do so.

Here’s the itemized cost: total materials $60 for a switch, $130 for labor, $5 for tax and $5 for discount. So I called them to verify what I was quoted over the phone.

After I had explain to her what had happened her first words were defensive in saying we are not responsible for what the answering services quoted you! And proceeded to talk over me with an attitude about how they price things and if I wasn’t satisfied with the price I shouldn’t have signed it. She had offered me a $20 discount that should had been included anyway instead of $5.

I would have never agreed to the labor cost because I had found another company that was extremely cheaper than what I had just paid. I chose them because of the quote they gave me over the phone and their website was accredited with the BBB.

My machine was fix and their customer service was awful! What happened to customer satisfaction without the attitude, times are difficult enough without extra sh**.

What they fail to realizes is that I will always have a washing machine and my friends do too. I made a terrible mistake with my gamble and will not use them again nor as a referral.

FYI on customer satisfaction:

1. Drop the attitude and smile with your voice.

2. Always take responsibility for whoever is working for you.

3. Don’t talk over the customers like a used car salesman.

4. Reasonable customers are always right and make them feel that way.

Call them NOW!!!. This business delivers on its promises and solves appliance repair situations quickly and economically. The service technician I had was Leo. He is the MAN when it comes to hi-end appliance repair. He diagnosed my Sub-Zero freezer problem within 30 seconds of his arrival. He also had the parts WITH HIM to repair the freezer. Another company I had come out before Low Rates, stated it would be 3-4 weeks before a repair part could be shipped by Sub-Zero. WRONG! Call Low Rates Appliance Repair. They have made a life-long customer out of me!

These people are bandits!. These people are bandits!!! Although the $100 I am asking to be credited for is not a huge amount, I feel that these people need to be stopped from performing their scams on others! We called Low Rates Appliance Repair for a service call for our refrigerator (GE Profile purchased new in November of 2004), which was not cooling. We were told the service call would be $45 and they could come the next day. A technicain named Michael came and after opening the freezer door and quickly closing it, said the evaporator motor fan was broken and needed to be replaced. The speed of his diagnosis made me suspicious so I asked him how he figured that out so quickly. He replied that he could not hear the fan running. Then he told me he had to special order the part from Los Angeles and it would cost $250. He said he would need a $100 deposit to order it because it was not something they stocked and it was expensive. He said the total to install it would be $400, maybe more depending on what they ran into while replacing the part. I told him it didn't make a lot of sense to me that something so major would go wrong on a refrigerator that wasn't that old. I also told him I questioned the wisdom of putting that much money into a repair . . . wouldn't I be better off to put it into a new refrigerator? He assured me that he had repaired a lot of refrigerators and repairing was the right thing to do. As soon as he left I went to the internet and looked up the part he was special ordering from Los Angeles. The price range I came up with for the part on a comparison shopping site was between $50 and $85. While I was doing this, Michael called (within 15 minutes of leaving our place) and said that his partner had the part on his truck and he could come back later that day and install it. I asked him what the part number was and he told me WR60X10300. I double checked the part price using its number on the internet and the result was the same: $50 - $85 for the part. I immediately called his number (which I had on caller ID) and told him what I had found on the internet for the part's price. I was told that Low Rates Appliance Repair's price for the part was $250 and they could install it that day. I asked him if they would be willing to lower the price of the part to a more competitive one. They said no and I said then do not come back and install it. They did not come back. There is 24 hour security in our building and the doorman logs everyone who comes into the building and there is no record of them attempting to come back to install the part. Then I contacted GE Repair and set an appointment for the next day. Their repairman took the freezer apart and said the evaporator fan motor was frozen. He used a steam heater to thaw it and put the freezer back together and that was it. Evaporator motor fan fixed and working fine.

I was told that the $100 put on my credit card was a deposit for an expensive part that had to be special ordered from Los Angeles. The fact is the part was not expensive and they had it in their possession AND I DIDN'T EVEN NEED IT! In light of their erroneous diagnosis I do not think they even deserve the $45 service call fee.

Terrible Service. Terrible Experience. They wanted to charge me 325 dollars for parts and labor to install a 26 dollar evaporator fan motor. It took less than 1 minute for the tech to get to the fan and remove it. I told him for that price I would do it myself. Was not treated very well either. They also would not bill me for the service, they required payment on the spot. Never had to deal with that before. Would not do business with them again.

From Michele. I have used Low Rates Appliance again and again. I just had a technician named Alex to fix my range. What a pleasure. The techician has arrived at the required schedule that I have requested for. He has done the job with accuracy and had a very reasonable estimate. I will stick with this company and recommend to everyone I would know.‎
