Shelly is an incredible trainer! She helped me with my stubborn but intelligent one year old malamute and I literally saw everything I wanted to see in him after 20 minutes of working with her. When working on loose leash walking, her technique had him picking it up right away and sticking with it! He was listening and aware of everything going on instead of getting bored easily like normal. She was working miracles with a dog I thought would be too stubborn to stick with anything. He is now a bit older and still so well behaved! after two sessions, he sits and waits to say hello to guests, waits until I give him command to get out of the car or door and listens to me! I could not be happier with the results from shelley's training. Not only is she an amazing trainer, but she truly cares for animals, planning rescues from high kill shelters and helping those in need in her spare time. I highly recommend Shelley 100% to anyone with any animal and any behavior problem! She is awesome!
We recently adopted a beautiful
American Pit Bull Terrier named Bruno, he is 80 lbs of muscle and high energy. I contacted Shelley to help me correct some behaviors that are not favorable specially coming from a huge dog. Bruno would usually charge out the door and trample anyone on the way, and so thats the first thing Shelley worked on. In just one session Bruno learned to sit patiently as I opened the door, walked outside and finally called him out, amazing! I was so impressed.
I am grateful Shelley uses positive reinforcements, its important for our four legged best friend to feel loved and to have fun while learning. Shelley made every session fun and engaging. Bruno and I have a deeper bond now, and I am able to understand him and tend to his needs better. I look forward to further training with Shelley. Our Bruno is a loving, sweet dog and thanks to Shelley he is also a very well behaved dog. People are always impressed by his behavior in public which is crucial in order to dissolve fears and prejudice over his particular breed. Bruno is now GCC certified and soon to be therapy dog. Cant thank you enough Shelley.
As a teacher, I have had Shelley give talks and demonstrations for my class each year. I was impressed by the abilities of the dog she used in the demonstration, he was obviously a very talented service dog. Each year my students looked forward to and enjoyed the talk and demonstration. We even had other teachers and classes joining us after they heard about it. Shelley is a very knowledgeable trainer, she was able to answer all of the questions from the class, as well as demonstrate some of her training methods. If I hadn't moved to another state, I would still be inviting her to talk every year.
Even though I live over 200 miles away, I felt it was more than worthwhile to have Shelley work with my new rescue dog named Rocky. He just was not learning from me and he was very hyperactive and disobediant. I knew Shelley from her work with training service dogs and I found out she was available to train any dog now. She spent the first hour with Rocky and he learned so many good behaviors that I was just amazed. I left Rocky with her while I took a vacation and when I returned in a few days, he was a changed for the better new dog. Rocky was a much happier and calmer dog too. I highly recommend Shelley as an expert dog trainer!
