In Short
After years of traveling to Baja California and enjoying fish tacos at beachside stands, Ralph Rubio opened his first restaurant in San Diego in 1983, banking on the south-of-the-border favorite. Today, Rubio's are located throughout the Southwest serving tacos, burritos salads and more. Baja-style fish tacos are the specialty--beer-battered Alaskan Pollack, cabbage and salsa in a soft corn tortilla. Street tacos (carnitas, carne asada, chicken), quesadillas, nachos and taquitos are other popular options.

Very good meal for the price. We were in town for a rugby match and needed something quick and good between games. Located not even 5 minutes away from the UCSD campus, this did the trick! Their chipotle sauce has almost a BBQ flavor to it and is thick and chunky. My chicken burrito was made to order and tasted great! I would have preferred more drink selections but hey, it's fast food.
