Tips for VCA Bonita Animal Hospital

They saved my dogs life.. My spanador was struck by a truck and ran over twice. I took her to the vet. They saved my dogs life. They fixed her collar bone and she is better than she ever was.

I don't care what the other people say. I am eternally grateful to Bonita pet hospital for saving my dogs life.

Best wishes.

Incompetent doctors and indifferent staff. Our dog Chester would still be alive if we did not take him to Bonita Pet Hospital. It was the only hospital open when Chester was vomitting. Vet Townsend immediately cut him up and cut out a major portion of his small intestines. After Townsend was paid $3000+, he discharged Chester. There was no follow up of any sort although Townsend knew Chester's condition was critical (Townsend later said this after Chester died and my husband demanded an explanation). Chester died 5 days after he got out of the hospital. To you Townsend, and to this hospital, the best way you can help people is to stop practicing. Don't you know that our pets are part of our families? You do not deserve to be part of this profession. As I read the other reviews here, I am convinced the only reason that Chester had undergone the surgery that he had was so this hospital could make as much as money as they could out of the situation.

DON'T GO THERE. THEY MURDERED MY DOG.

I rue the day I took my dog there. They gave my 5 year old Labrador such a horrible painful death that I wish I had just put him to sleep instead. Not to mention a $5000 vet bill because they insisted that the dog be subject to a battery of tests and 1 week of emergency care which he didn't need. I still get nightmares about this every single night. DON'T TAKE YOUR DOG THERE.

Loyal Customer. I have been taking my dogs to Bonita Pet Hospital since the late 90's. The staff has always treated my dogs with great care. I have recommended many friends to this hospital and they have also been really satisfied.

What I saw. I have read these reviews and I have never seen what they are talking about. When I go there everybody is super kind and caring. They treat my dog great and she loves it there. Dr. Tomblin was able to explain to me what was wrong with her eye when 3 other vets had no idea. He gave me a book that shows exactly what was wrong and there was nothing to be worry about. When I talked to Dr. Bernhard about my Jack Russell he was very kind and caring. If he had been my veterinarian in Florida my dog would be alive today. I don't know about you but I don't mind paying for results. I would rather have GREAT vets than lower prices, and from what I have seen the prices aren't that bad. Veterinarian Care is expensive everywhere. My dog sleeps right beside me and I want the best quality medicine I can get for him.

I would highly recommend Bonita to all my friends.

This is how it really is. Judge for yourself.. I used to be employed at Bonita, and I wish all of these people with negative comments could see what it's like from the employee's point of view. NOBODY who works there agrees with any raising prices. They have to deal with receiving it from all ends. But even so, most of the prices are comparable to other clinics, they just offer what is ideal for the animal's well-being. EVERYONE who works there is passionate about animals and only wants the best and wants to help where possible. They fight to do what's best for the animals while spending time to work with the clients to do WHAT THEY CAN because funding and resources are very limited in this field. Without being in the field to judge, i'm sure that's hard to understand. And that is another reason the prices aren't dirt cheap, because in order to provide QUALITY service for animals, it is best to be offered, and a lot of places won't bother to even offer what would be best for the pet, and people will walk away loving them. The doctors aren't there to just kiss up and actually look down on everyone. They are on everyone's level. They are compassionate and the most amazing I've ever worked with. I'm sure when people don't get what they want they are going to want to come on here and try give someone a bad name, but to see so many people so appreciative every day because they get personalized care, that's something worth noting as well.

too expensive, service just OK. Our dog had a UTI and they did 800 worth of test, the unine culture alone was almost 200 dollars. When I have gone to others in the past, everything was half or less of what they charged here. The only reason we went there was becuase we recently move to area, but next time I need a vet I will go back to College Animal Hospital.

Good Experiences. I have had good experiences with Bonita Pet Hospital. I have used Dr. Tomlin to crop both of my dogs ears. He is very friendly and spent a good amount of time talking with us regarding the process. It was like sitting down with an old friend having a conversation. The staff is always very friendly and kind. I was called both times as soon as the surgery was done to let me know everything was fine. I do believe the prices are somewhat higher, but when cropping a dogs ears the quality of the procedure is far more importent then the price.

Dont go there. Use to work there DONT WORK THERE, once they get the pets to the back they are NOT kind, if they go above ur treament plan they will use the "its only a treament plan", they dont care about you or your pets, I was told to act nice but once the client leaves it is a diff story, worked in the back and front trust me go elsewhere!

It's OK if you have lots of money. Super expensive. You better take out a second mortgage if you want surgery or if complications arise. $800 for teeth cleaning, $15 for trimming nails?? I shoulda been a vet. Get your shots at the mobile vet, $5 or $10. Bonita charges at least double for meds and shots. They won't accept a check in payment unless it "pre-clears." And if the computer is down they won't let you out of the place unless you come up with a credit card. They never call you with a status report.
