Editorial Review for Jimmy's Corner – by Raven Snook

The Scene
Its enduring identity crisis is perhaps one of this unpretentious watering hole's greatest charms. Owned by former boxer and trainer Jimmy Glenn, it's a sports bar situated in the heart of the Theater District that attracts an intoxicating mix of boisterous businessmen, veteran winos, in-the-know tourists and actors relaxing after a night on the boards.

The Draw
Cheap beer, multiple TV sets, an awesome collection of boxing memorabilia, a fierce jukebox and an adorable Eurotrash waitstaff are all key attractions. But in the end, it's the authentic, old-school NYC vibe that entices patrons from all walks of life to enter this claustrophobic bar and its small back room. The decor hasn't changed (or been dusted) since the 1970s, and after an hour listening to blues and jazz hits, you'll really believe you're back in the 20th century.

Yeah, it's a tight fit but it's packed with good company and lots of fun! It's like a neighborhood bar hidden right here in crazy Times Square. If you're looking for a big comfy couch to sip your martini...this isn't the place for you! Drinks are cheap, folks are friendly and the jukebox is the best in NYC. A little tip: even though there are tons of boxing paraphernalia on the walls, don't sleep this is really a baseball bar at heart.

Cheapest drinks in NYC. Great location, good conversation. No food, but "snacks" are plenty. A good place to watch the game, talk football and absorb the atmosphere. Highly Recommended. Mb
