Honest and Helpful. I had been looking for a diamond to upgrade my wife's wedding ring. I visited several other stores before happening upon bob's reviews online. The stores I had checked up on before confused me with jargon, and I felt pressured. Bob's gem shop is an entirely different experience- when I walked in, Wayne and his son were immediately attentive and did not try to sell me on what they had just in the showcase, or try to upsell me on a stone bigger and more expensive than what I wanted.. Wayne explained to me what is important when looking for a diamond, and had a couple stones on hand to show me. Even though he didn't have the exact 1.5 carat stone I was looking for on hand, he showed me a few other stones for comparison, got an idea of what I was looking for, and had a beautiful stone ready for me the next day- much cheaper than the mall, and even cheaper than diamond prices online! Their jeweler set the new diamond in the ring, and made it look brand new. I would recommend this business to anyone. Thanks Wayne!

Great service!. For over 32 years, Bob's Gem Shop, located north of Downtown Escondido, has been offering what few jewelry stores offer these days: good customer service. Now owned and run by Wayne Bray and his family, I got to experience a TRUE “mom and pop” store.

At Bob's Gem Shop, they understand the difference between good and great customer service. With customers ranging from 20 years old to 99 years old, they cater to every individual's needs and differences. They also understand that when they take in a piece of jewelry to be created, repaired or redesigned there's got to be a certain trust level there. Ernesto Pi?a has been the master jeweler at Bob's for 32 years. He's been creating and repairing jewelry for 60 years, and all of his work is so beautiful and detailed that it doesn't stay on display for very long before someone comes and buys it.

Services include jewelry and watch repairs, appraisals. They buy all metals, custom design jewelry. They have new, wholesale and estate sale diamonds. They'll even clean your jewelry for free.

There's also a very casual and real vibe in the store that you don't find in many other jewelry stores. Nothing is intimidating.
