Great customer service, great breakfast but inconsistent hours. I live in the neighborhood and run by this restaurant frequently. I can never tell when they are going to be open or closed. Some weekends they don't open for breakfast until 11. We really like their food (esp. breakfast) and their service is excellent but we always make sure to call first to make sure they are open before we head over.

My fave. place to eat!. I LOVE ADAMS AVENUE GRILL! The food is the BEST in San Diego. Try the BBQ Shrimp on Grits or the meatloaf, always a favorite! AAG is friendly and unpretentious, casual but nice enough to make dinner feel a little special. It's great for walking over to if you're in the area, but not a bad drive if you live further away, and it won?t take forever to find a parking space like going to Hillcrest or Downtown. The food is extraordinary here and the staff is terrific too.

Sophisticated but still friendly, this is the neighborhood restaurant you'll wish was in yours.. In Short
The bulk of the menu is sandwiches and burgers, but chef Tim Klepeis tries to re-invent the obvious whenever possible. Hence, the (red) onion rings are breaded with the big, flaky Japanese panko breadcrumbs. Dinner entrees aim for gourmet seasonality, like broiled salmon in a blood orange and basil sauce. But look at what the regulars around you are ordering, and chances are it'll be more casual, homestyle diner fare.

Adams Ave Grill has potential but for now? A disappointment. Service was mediocre at best. My dinner, which was one of the specials was served cold. I had to send it back. The Salmon on the menu was dry. Very lackluster.

Not worth the trip. Stick to the new energy, vibe, and variety of the Gaslamp Quarter! Adams Avenue Grill has been around awhile and it shows. Service is functional compared to newer places. My friends and I felt rushed, crowded with the spacing of the tables and parking is a pain. Not the best for hanging out, very small bar area. For special nights, there are more intimate places elsewhere, this place won't pop into my mind.

It was THAT bad!. My PORK was bloody(!!!) and my wife's "medium" beef wasn't even close (practically rare). Sent both dishes back. Someone apologizes. Was he the mgr? because he didn't even identify himself. pork came back out cooked-but dry and beef still returned undercooked - what an insult.

When we complained that the beef still wasn't up to snuff, the waitress tried to tell us that the beef was cooked 'more than medium' adding even more insult to injury. told her we wouldn't be paying for the dish. appetite was gone. Check comes w/out manager, and less the beef dish from the check. No offer to comp a drink or an appetizer.

NEVER sent something back twice, refused to pay for a dish, AND stiffed a rude server - all of which happened 10/24 at adams ave.
