Wow the person who went just for the spa?? I have wanted to stay at this resort for years...we always go to san diego for vacation...I gotta say, I'm glad I tried so I'll never wonder what I'm missing being in those nicer resorts...the pools were very dirty, the whirlpool does not work and is dirty too. I'm not at all a penny pincher but, I gotta tell you, they do nickle and dime you to death. The only thing your rate covers is your room. They are very small too. Nothing even close to a four star resort...which I know what a four star is, we almost always stay in four star resorts on our family vacations...they charge for parking, exercise room use is 20.00 dollars per day ontop of the 22 fee to park. If you want to do anything else at the resort, expect to pay a lot. Nothing comes with your rate except your VERY small room. internet services is outrageous too.
Pros: the trees on the property are pretty to look at
Cons: over priced, not a true family resort

I have to say -- this place is WAY overpriced and does not deserve a four star rating. We went for the weekend and were disappointed all around. 1st we had to change rooms THREE times because they were filthy. (Complete with left-overs in the toilet and hair on th bathroom floors.) Then when we finally did get to the room we stayed in - it smelled of mildew and mold. The grounds are incredible, but the rooms are disgusting and in serious need of an overhaul. I warn you -- DO NOT PAY a 4 star price for this property -- it's not worth it! Finally - for the price -- the staff was surly, the room service slow and you have to pay $22 a night to park your car outside of your own room. We went with romance in mind and ended up visiting all that the beautiful San Diego had to offer because the rooms were that below a two-star standard.
Pros: The grounds are lovely.
Cons: NOT FOUR STAR QUALITY! OVER-PRICED!!! SMELLY, UNCLEAN ROOMS!

Great location and nice rooms. Expected more for the prices they were charging. It was very much a family resort and there were lots of kids there when we stayed. The service staff were below average (they closed the pool bar when a line of people were waiting to order drinks, etc.) but the property was lovely.

If you want to get away from the world for a little while, I choose Spa Terre at Paradise Point in San Diego, California. As soon as you pull into Vacation Road, they create a tropical atmosphere with the flowers and trees. Past the first stop sign, there is parking to the left, and the entrance to the spa is through the pool area. As you enter the building there is a well-equipped gym in the room next door to the spa reception. You check in, and then are shown the waiting room and women's or men's facilities. In the locker area, you'll find slippers and a robe to change into, as well as a wet sauna, and a well-stocked bathroom--just in case you forgot to shave or bring your toiletries with you. I was impressed with the decor and size of the treatment rooms. The couples' massage room that I saw is a large hut-like room separated from the main building. Each massage therapist are excellent in whatever treatment you choose. I have been delighted with their services, and have bought gift certificates for friends.
Pros: excellent service, ample parking, large treatment and waiting rooms
Cons: price, spa was initially hard to find
