A leaking Milgard Window has ruined an otherwise happy experience with our new paint job on the house.

We were really pleased with the appearance of the completed paint job on our house. They also replaced all of our old Aluminum windows with nice new Milgard Vinyl windows. In December there was a heavy rain storm in San Diego and one of our new Milgard windows leaked like a sieve; water soaked the inside of our wall around the new window, and even got the carpet wet under the window. I immediately got out in the rain and put some Henry's Wet Patch along the top of the window, and it seemed to slow down the leak a little, but the window still leaked. Colors of Europe came out and inspected, and applied some extra caulking above my wet patch, but the window still leaks, and the paint and finish on my inside wall around the window is all crumbly and discolored from the rain water, and we have mold growing on the inside of our new Milgard window frame. It's disgusting to look at, and both Colors of Europe and Milgard Windows contractors have come to my home and inspected it. Milgard did a 'leak test' on the window, and sure enough, their technician saw that the window does in fact leak inside from the window frame. Unfortunately, nobody has come to fix the window! Milgard told me they would, but then another technician came to look at the defective window, and told me no...they wouldn't replace it unless Colors of Europe contractors were here with them when they started. In the mean while, we are expected to just live with the damage and if it rains and it continues to leak? Too bad homeowner, not our problem. I have written a formal request to Colors of Europe asking them to make this right, and will send it Registered to ensure they get it. I feel that although the owner is very pleasant about getting it fixed, four (4) months is too long for us to have to wait for them to get this window replaced or repaired. I may have to take them to court. Still waiting with faith in humanity that they will do the right thing and fix this damage.

Pros: The paint seems to be excellent quality and I love the color.

Cons: The window replacement was unsatisfactory all because of a leaking Milgard window.
