I think Coin Mart Jewelry is the best store in San Diego. I have shopped there for about five years now and purchased a couple very nice pieces of jewelry. The staff are very attentive, at first you think they are high pressure sales but they are actually very friendly and helpful. A couple of times I dint know what to get my wife for Christmas and there was always someone there to give me ideas. I have seen the way other stores operate and this has to be the best store in San Diego. My wife's ring came from this store and we have never had any complaints with them. I have also bought a couple gifts for my wife there and I am happy because everything I have pick up my wife has loved. I have sent several friends down and I have also gotten $25 gift certificates from them for the refferals so if anyone wants to go down there email me and I can get another $25 gift certificate. I would tell anyone to check it out.
Pros: Great store they do it all
Cons: Friendly people can kind scare you

My husband heard about this place on the radio. Their repair service is HORRIBLE! What they do to an heirloom is deplorable! My custom diamond earrings, that we bought at their store, had a clump of gold inside the filigree of the head, which was attached to the hoops. I brought it to their attention, when I picked them up, and they wanted me to leave them there. Eventually, I had it repaired by them. I thought this flaw was just a mistake, and I always try to give someone a second chance, so I then brought in a 70 yr. old heirloom engagement ring that was inherited. It was very delicate and all it needed was a delicate touch of gold to re-connect some cracked gold; plus re-size the ring. What came back was instead a BUTCHERED mess! Beneath the diamond setting, looked as though someone melted the gold, took a drill bit and went clear up from the bottom toward the diamond. It looks chewed up. The piece that needed to be fixed originally was melted in a mangled and unrecognizable mess. The ring band originally appeared thin and delicate. What came back, regarding the resizing, was a HUGE, THICK, & MIS-SHAPENED band. It was as if a thick gold ring, with the top jewel cut off, was then attached to the head of our ring. It was bent funny, had file marks, dings, scratches, was overpoweringly disfigured and DESTROYED! All the store mgr. (Kurt Reichert) could say was that "I didn't get a good look at it before I gave it to you". By any example, this is a poor jewelry repair store. I had to fight for a refund for this repair, even though Kurt admitted fault and agreed it was very poor work on their end. They finally gave me my refund, after several phone calls. I do NOT recommend this company at all! I say this with sincere honesty, not anger! I had the ring looked at by several other jewelers and they were all flabbergasted that any business would allow such workmanship leave their business. They offered to restore it and we refused! We will seek repair elsewhere.
Pros: This is a jewelry store.
Cons: Not good with repairs or jewelry alterations. And do not offer refunds!!!!
