Awful, rip-off

by otherguyyy

Over priced, pretentious tourist trap! This is a used car lot type of high pressure selling which are way overpriced, and then they did the bath soaks and the staff basically had their hands out waiting for a tips. Everything is an extra fee. I don't mind a $100 facial, but please don't nickel and dime me. This place will charge you if you miss an appointment or are even late! No breaks, it like they know they are not going to be around for much longer or just do not care.

  • Pros: cute staff
  • Cons: Cost, quaility, service

Totally Average

While at a convention in San Diego, I visited Spa Tiki and was disappointed. On my arrival, the front desk person was overwhelmed and did not acknowledge me for at least ten minutes. When she finally did, it was not a warm greeting. I felt like I was troubling her.

Regarding the treatments, I enjoyed a thoroughly delightful massage, but can't say much about the facial. In my opinion, the treatments are pricey for what you get.

In their favor, Spa Tiki is VERY close to the Convention Center, so if you're on business you can easily sneak out for a little R & R. But, do yourself and your wallet a favor, just have a massage.

Wonderful Experience

by CarlyBBBB

I went to Spa Tiki as part of a large group and was amazed in several ways. First that they could accomidate that many people at once. Second that even at the end of a very long day every employee from front desk to service providers were as happy and cheerful and professional as the must have been at the start of the day. The enviroment was excellent. The services providers really are experts at what they do.

I cannot wait to go back!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pros: the people, the enviroment, the products
  • Cons: the address is a little hard to find go to 3rd and J Street

Positively Loved It!

by SallyBe88

The entire staff is great. I haven't met a person there yet that I didn't adore!. They kept asking me for anything that I wanted. The top notch estician recommended some products and I am really impressed with the quality. The lay out of the spa is very beautiful and relaxing. Overall I give this a 10/10... I would happily spend a lot of money on the facial experience again. My facial (inculding extractions) glowed without ANY usual marks on my face. Marla is extremely sweet and gives the best facials I've ever had in my life. I was extremely happy afterwards. I even enjoyed my Mai Tai...it was delicious and fresh. The spa was crowded on Sunday morning, but honestly, they do an excellent job and making everyone feel comfortable while waiting for their session to begin.

Pros: Out of this world facial, inviting atmosphere, excellent client care

They lost my reservation AND I got charged for appointment that never happened!

by suziV

My mom, sister and I were visiting San Diego and booked three massages at Spa Tiki four days in advance. When we got there, receptionist couldn't find our appointments and immediately started says that we must have made a mistake because it wasn't in the system. Once she found mistake was on their end, it was kind of a big "oh well" rather than a "I'm so sorry and here's what we're going to do to remedy the situation." Needless to say, we left pretty disappointed, but before we did we specifically verified with her that the credit card number we gave when we booked the appointments would not be charged and she assured us that it would not. Sure enough, credit card bill just arrived with a $330 charge for massages we never got!
