Fantastic food, understated elegance. 150 Grand is now our favorite restaurant in the San Diego area. We went there on a Saturday evening for my birthday. The vibe was classy but low key. Nothing pretentious but everything just right. We each ordered something different from the menu, and all three of us were very pleased with our dinners. The osso buco was tender and flavorful. The duck breast was moist and complemented perfectly by the sauce. The scallops were seared to perfection and the best I have had in a restaurant anywhere. The only complaint on the dinners was that the risotto had way too much tarragon for my taste, but everything else more than made up for it.

The staff was also great. Our waitress was very friendly and seemed to truly enjoy what she was doing, and the rest of the staff was attentive without being intrusive. In keeping with the understated elegance of the place, my birthday was acknowleged with a simple candle in the (free) dessert but no tacky singing or display.

All in all, it was a wonderful evening and we will definitely go back.…
