I want my license back!
by latenoiz at Citysearch
I wish I had read everyone's reviews before coming here. My license got confiscated because they couldn't tell if it was me or not. C'mon really?? I have short hair in my ID. Hair grows, fukkktard. I am way over past the drinking age. Get over it!! Then the jerkoff had to get a second opinion so he called his fat black friend over to take a look. Now this guy was RUDE. Just because you're big & black don't mean you're tough sh!t. I guess being a "bouncer" doesn't pay well. That explains the sour attitude. This place is total BS!! I hope it shuts down soon. You have been warned. STAY AWAY!
- Pros: If you want your ID taken away come here
- Cons: LAME bouncers who think they run that place.
Harassing Bouncers and Manager!
by ReviewGirl at Citysearch
No parking, expensive drinks, Fat ugly bouncers who sexually harass girls, a gay manager who thinks he is cool because he is 40 years old and still works at a bar for a living. This is by far the worst bar in gas lamp! If you go here expect large bills (Don't start a tab! They will run it up!), expect to sexually harassed by over weight ugly bouncers who need dental work, and expect to see a gay little manager who thinks he is cool.... Horrible Horrible Horrible! Cover charge too!
- Pros: None...
- Cons: Big fat black bouncer who thinks he's tough. Gay Manager.
Do not go to this bar! *READ*
by Bword at Citysearch
Do not go to this bar! They are not military friendly, their drinks are expensive, their bouncers think they are cops and are extremely harrassing... Horrible bar and I will never go again... I Strongly discourage going to this bar if you're looking to have a good time.... BEWARE!
- Pros: NOTHING
- Cons: Expensive drinks, rude bouncers, not military friendly

- Cons: A punk black guy in his little black security shirt
Whiskey Girl: Worst Bar in the Gaslamp. David the supposed owner had to write-in his name on a blank business card?
by RonneeP at Citysearch
After a wonder birthday dinner at Cesar's Mangu we chose to go dancing a Whiskey Girl and it was a horrible nightmare. We had only been their for about ten minutes when one girl from our party went to the bathroom. She had not drank any alcohol but she responded to this other girl throwing up and began to gag and just threw up a little. She was bounced out of the club immediately. Her date pleaded her case and was bounced out as well. Being the birthday boy and host I decided to inform this guy "David" who claimed to be the owner that I paid $60 for 6 people just ten minutes ago and that I was the only one to have a drink prior to the incident. First he ignored me and after I explained that she was sober he just smiled in an arrogant fashion. I told him I wanted my money back and he bounced me out too. After I spoke with local law inforcement he refunded $20 and gave us three 2 for 1 passes. This guy "David" was an idiot and he would not listen to reason. I never yelled or swore, but I was very assertive. He told the officer that my demeanor was innappropriate but my entire party of six stood there and witnessed that I was totally rational and professional. Since I will never step foot in this bar again I decided to give away my 2 for 1 passes about an hour later and a security guard accompanied by "David" attempted to snatch my passes and I stood my ground and said that it was my right to give these to anyone I wanted to. "David" told everybody in line that these passes were invalid. I plan to petition this club really soon. Then we will find out if "David" owns the sidewalk, as well!
Dress Code Is Terrible, Outside Bouncer Needs Teeth kicked Inn
by SkullCrack at Citysearch
Not nearly a nice enough bar to have a dress code. Are you kidding me? Relax with the insane rules.
Outside security guy (short small black guy) probably will not live long with such an aggressive demeanor when enforcing such a stupid dress code. This guy is way too small to be such an idiot. Whisky Girl should fire him or move into mop the kitchen before they have to pay the medical bills from someone knocking out his teeth.
- Cons: Solid bar but dress code is lame and security staff should be re-evaluated before someone gets hurt.
Avoid This Place At All Times!! Horrible!!!
by JimSaurbren at Citysearch
This was the worst time I have ever had in my life while out on a Saturday Night. The staff was rude the food was terrible and they tried to pass off a Bud-light draft for a Stella.(dont mess with a man's beer) The Waitress would dissapear for 20+ minutes at a time. The steak Quesadilla made my stomach explode. The Pizza was literally like chewing on cardboard. There were some guys watching baseball and wearing caps, They actually told them to take off their caps after they had already been in the bar for hours because their dress-code was now 10pm dress-code. I think one guy even re-fused and they threw him out. What a joke!!!
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: RUDE
This is a great place to dance, karaoke, and peple watch. This is not a good place to drink, eat, or sit down!!!
by DaneenandTony at Citysearch
I like the music videos playing on the TV screens, the DJ and dance atmosphere, as well as the ultra awesome new Karaoke corner in the basement on the weekends . The top 40 music from the 80's, 90's , and today is a plus here. Feel free to take a smoke break, the patio is a great place for people watching!!! That said, time for the bad. Parking wow! But that happens anywhere in Gaslamp on a weekend or weekday. So get ready for parking hell of course. I tried to omit parking form my star rating system. Rating this place was hard. A piece of advice.....get drunk before you get here, the service and price of drinks is ridiculous!!! The food....good luck getting a waitress...hahaha.The seating indoor and out is very very limited even if you get there very early. In addition if you leave an hour before closing the bouncer will not let you back in even with a hand stamp ....downer!!!! The $5 cover before 10:00 on a Sat. was not so bad plus we got free cover charge passes to come back for doing well at Karaoke!!! Can't beat that!!!
So 5 stars for the music, dancing, and Karaoke.......only 2 stars for the food, drinks ,and service so i rate this place 3 to 4 stars overall so I put down 3 stars for the lousy parking sorry !!!
- Pros: Music vids, DJ, Karaoke, patio for people watching
- Cons: food, drinks, service, seating
Ruined My jager bomb experience for life!
by pdizzle123 at Citysearch
Ok first of all the Whiskey Girl is an ok bar in downtown...the music is pretty decent, but they do play the same sh*t every weekend. The reason I am posting this review is b/c of the bad experience I had with Jager Bombs. I love Jager Bombs. (I F*ckin' Shower in that Sh*t) So I go up to the bar and ask for three jager bombs. She brings the Jager Bombs already mixed and says, "That'll be 30 dollars please". My response is, "Are you serious?" Wow, what's the purpose of drinking jager bombs if I don't get to drop the bomb? We did the Jager Bombs, and I will have to say that I will never buy another Jager Bomb from the Whiskey Girl Establishment. If I do happen to go back I'll just stick with my usual Jack and Coke. Ohh, and they are a lil' stingy with the liqour. If you do plan on going to Whiskey Girl, I hope your experience is better than mine. (Duces)
- Pros: Music is decent...and that's about it!
- Cons: The Jager Bombs are premixed and overpriced!
Great band playing, but if you want to find the worst bartenders in San Diego go to the Whiskey Girl
by nels1020 at Citysearch
If you would like to get a drink after waiting for 20 minutes, and eat really bad food go to the Whiskey Girl. There are at least ten bars on the same street that will treat you better and have much better food than the Whiskey Girl. If I could give it 0 stars on this site I would, but, 1 is the lowest I can give.
- Pros: Local Bands Playing
- Cons: Bartender service is worst ever seen by this patron
