best chinese ever
by angiepants at Citysearch
This is by far the best Chinese Cuisine that I've had the privilege of eating. The staff at Blue Ginger is very nice and outgoing, and willing to go the extra mile to make their customers satisfied. I had a great time when I ate there, and I plan on returning many times over. The chef's name is Chef Lee, and he's absolutely hilarious. Ask for him to come introduce himself and he might say his food is bad, but he's only being humble. His food is amazing. Even thinking about going to Panda express now makes my stomach sink a little. Thanks Blue Ginger!
- Pros: Great people, great atmosphere
- Cons: I was so full when I left that it was kind of hard to walk to the car :) Sweetly satisfying, however :)
Great Atmosphere & teamwork

We came into the restaurant at an obviously busy time. It was full & everyone was moving so quickly. We were seated & immediatly were served water. We sat back & watched for a little bit & noticed how well everyone was working together. No matter how busy it was everyone had a smile on their face. We placed our order with a delightful waiter & were amazed how fast we got our order see how busy it was. I asked the waiter how many cooks they had back there & he said only 3!! Amazing. As we were eating I got to look around the restaraunt...beautiful! They have a giant aquarium & a mural on the wall. I went to the bathroom & saw they have a waterfall on the lounge side! The food was great & the servie was beyond compare. I recommend this to anyone that wants to have a wonderful evening in downtown.
- Pros: Food, Service, the atmosphere
- Cons: parking
Crazy Chef... Great Food
by mark_emerson at Citysearch
We could hear the Chef line speaking in chinese from our table and laughing all night, which made us know that this place was for real! The portions are large, and the food is authentic. The service was a little slow at first, but we new he was busy. He ended up being one of the best servers we have had in san diego. Give this place a go. 9 out of 10!!
- Pros: The food and service
- Cons: the door was open and shut because of all the people and was a little cold.
Authentic renditions of Mandarin and regional Chinese cuisine served in a tranquil setting.

In Short
Monsoon's sister restaurant is a relaxing spot to enjoy a Chinese food lunch or dinner before a night at the clubs. Striking wall murals depict rural life in the provinces, while soft Asian music, a soothing waterfall, and colorful aquarium lend serenity to the dining room. Mongolian beef and mango chicken are standouts among the entrees, but guests also rave about the salt and pepper prawns. Mango mousse is the light and tasty dessert specialty.
