cool little spot
by Delmar19
Air Contioned Lounge sits in North Park so off the beaten path on dtown and everywhere else. Its a unique bar with generally good sounding music. A bit of a mixed crowd depending on the night you guy which makes it fun. Always have a great time at Air Conditioned.
- Pros: something different. lots of fun
- Cons: super small

If you are looking for a trendy good time in your local neighborhood, this is a fun place! Wide range of people and ages. Play great old school dancing music!!!
Faux Retro
by sterling7837
I read the cocktail reviews and looked at the website so I was expecting one thing and got another.
I was led to believe this would be a place like the Downtown Cocktail Lounge (in Downtown Las Vegas--look it up and go--TODAY. If you've never been you'll get a grown up experience and a grown up cocktail). I have had better drinks in TJ. The positive for this place was that the drinks were cheap but equally bad.
This is a faux-retro (unlike Nunu's and Turf Club which didn't have to be created) neighborhood bar with undrinkable cocktails. I personally won't return but if I was 22 and lived 3 blocks away I might think it was a cool place.
- Pros: Funky Feel
- Cons: Frat-House Faux Retro
Last night a DJ saved my life

Originally we started frequenting the AC Lounge because it's in stumbling distance, however after revisting a lot of my old favorites in San Diego i've come to appreciate the AC Lounge on a whole new level. The music is always infectious, the staff always friendly and the drinks always strong.
when you want the vibe of the turf club and the option of tearin it up on the dancefloor....the ac lounge is the only way to go.
Dive bar offers unique drinks, dancing and DJs to San Diego scenesters.

An unsuspecting storefront leads indie and trendy scenesters to this Normal Heights' gem that's both a cool place to chill and be seen. Urban-chic, colorful lounge with retro fur couches, mini-beds DJ booth-side and an illuminated U-shaped bar are appropriate amenities at this hip hangout. Fresh spun beats and signature drinks like the Key lime martini might just encourage you to bust a move on the small but functional dance floor.
Go downtown? You crazy or sumthin'?
by jennzhere
I don't usually write reviews on the club scene because when I read all the slick DJ vernacular it makes me feel less than cool. But at AIR CONDITIONED, you don't have to make up words or spend an hour gluing on fake lashes to be somebody. Why go downtown and deal with herds of wanna-be somebodies numb on kamikazis just to pay $20 bucks to get in, be ingored and finally spend another $15 on one drink. Yeah, there's often a line at AIR CONDITIONED. That's gonna happen when a place is cool. But at least when you get in you can get a strong drink with a smile (without begging). The music and bartenders are hot, but the drinks and atmosphere are very cool. Go and enjoy. BTW -if you're not a crowd person, $5 u-call-its and good guests DJs on Sunday nights.
Best Lounge

It's hard to find a true lounge in San Diego but Air Conditioned sure fits the profile head on!
The crowd is always a bit different then last time and for sure different then what you'll find in your usual community bar/club (I.E. the downtown crowd vs. PB vs. OB, etc.) ? at AC it?s simply a unique mix that constantly changes. Yes it can be a hit-and-miss sometimes but it?s for sure a change to the usual.
The place it self has a bit of a 70?s New York flair and is the perfect size, not too small nor too big, has the right amount of seating and just overall allows for a good vibe.
The real treat is the great attitude of the staff!
Only downside is that I think it would be nice if they would limit the max. amount of people allowed inside a bit lower than they do.. it can get really crowded in there (that?s why I gave it a nine and not a full 10).
Anyway, if you haven?t been there yet go check it out.
- Pros: The service is great, the place is cool/different, it's a nice change to the usual SD scene
- Cons: Sometimes too crowded
Like Downtown but without the prices, lines or pretentiousness!!!
by smokeyjojo
The drinks are inexpensive, the crowd here is hip with no phonies and the music is awesome gotta love it! You dont have to pay for parking, DJs every night of the week and they even have a VIP room (with a stripper pole) I love going there when I want to go out but not do the downtown thing.
- Pros: Prices, location, music
- Cons: Can be crowded if you get there late
Cool space to chill or dance if you don't wanna go downtown.

Went there on a Wednesday not expecting too much, but the place rocks. I love the backbar and the James Bond! Booze, baby, booze! Drinks prices are much better than what I've paid downtown. It's a really cool, little place; if you're going more upscale or looking for more of a big club feel, it's probably not for you. The music is dead-on and overall, I highly recommend it.
- Pros: Location, music, drink prices
- Cons: Location, smaller
A cool spot for a hot night. North Park singles sizzle on the dance floor with signature martinis.
