SENIORS LOVE RALPHS!

by NANA PATSY at Citysearch

I am a senior and have been coming to Ralphs, dowtown San Diego, for years now. Every time the cashier tells me what I saved with my card, I explain outloud "I LOVE RALPHS!" Eating for one in a studio apartment, with nothing but an icebox & microwave, I find I can just pickup Great Deli Food, ready made entrees and salads and grab my morning coffee! If I want to get fresh produce, seafood, cheese and wine, there is no better. If I am "On The Run" for the beach or a picnic close by, I grab ready made food. RALPHS, YOU HAD ME AT THE DOOR! The free parking, bus stop, convenient walking distance, newspaper and elevator are just more of what make you the BEST! All of your employees act like they work for a 4*hotel. To all who are new to San Diego, or those visiting, you will soon be in love with Ralphs and this amazing city!

  • Pros: BEST DOWNTOWN DELI & COFFEE
  • Cons: No problems Ever!

Supermarket chain offers patrons well-stocked shelves of groceries and household products.

by Contributor at Citysearch

In Short
Ralphs Grocery Co. was founded in 1873 by George Albert Ralphs. Since then the chain has expanded throughout Southern California and in 1999 was acquired by the Ohio-based grocery giant Kroger Co. Ralphs offers a wide variety of items, ranging from fruits, vegetables and meats to dairy, fresh-baked goods, housewares, beer and wine, books, magazines and flowers. Most locations also have a pharmacy and photo lab.

This place is great. For anyone staying at any of the hotels around Gas Lamp, Seaport Village, Petco or the Convention Center it is a grocery store, liquor store and generally has about everything.
