Everytime I go to San Diego I make my way to Cafe 222 for breakfast. I love the tamale breakfast, the atmosphere is great too. It is a small quaint cafe on the corner of some condo's.

Pros: Great Food

Cons: Bad coffee

Lots of variety on the breakfast menu. Loved the beef tamale, wasn't crazy about the peanut butter waffle. I love pb, so had high hopes, but texture was doughy and flavor wasn't strong. Disappointed that I never got offered more coffee despite sitting at the small counter. Overall, cute place, would try again.

i was tempted to get the pumpkin pancakes, but i played it safe and had the mexican omlete (i believe) instead. i was with a party of 9 and everyone enjoyed their breakfast. The cafe only sat about 40 some people so it was relatively small. Definitely worth the visit again!

Pros: great in every way

if you go try the eggs benedict. you will not be disappointed. if you feel daring try the tamale special, very suprising. the wait is always 30-45 min but it is always worth it. there is no bad time to show. there will always be a wait, and they don't take reservations but it is worth the wait.

Pros: people friendly and pet friendly. a must go

Cons: the restaurant is smaller than a studio apt. but dine outside, its very nice
