A loud dump! And the pool ain't heated. Ventana Hotels Fax 480 563 3958 E mail info@ventanahotels. Last Sat nite (Apr 25), we stayed at the Lafayette in San Diego. When I made reservations, I asked for a quiet room. I was originally assigned a 1st floor room right on the corner of 2 busy streets.

The only other room available was a handicap room, 155, located just off the lobby. They said it would be quiet.

When we got back to the hotel there were tons of drunks having a party in the lobby, 30 feet from our room, and right in front of the front desk.

At midnight I had it, called the front desk, and they said they'd say something. It just got louder. Screaming continued for another hour, with doors slamming all night.

If you want a party hotel, fine. Just state what your mission is. We checked in to have a room to sleep in, and we didn't get it.

I want a refund of the $75 fee. The room was a total waste, and I couldn't change hotels at midnight.

By the way, the room hasn't been updated in 30 years. Spend some $, or sell to someone who will.

Horrible customer service. My partner and I reserved a room here a month ahead of time as part of my friend's wedding party. We called them the day before our arrival to let them know that we had a late flight so they wouldn't give our room away thinking we weren't going to show up. They confirmed our reservation and noted our late arrival. We arrived the next night around 11:30 PM, as described the day before. The desk clerk informed us that our reservation had been canceled because our credit card had expired (we had used a virtual credit card number with an expiration date of 3/07 because the reservation was made in March; the reservation was for 4/07). They had no explanation for why this wasn't mentioned the day before when we confirmed our reservation. They couldn't explain why they hadn't called us that day to notify us of the cancellation. They had no more rooms left and wouldn't let us speak to a manager because they "weren't available that late." We were able to stay in a friend's suite on the pullout couch, thus averting a disaster (and saving us 1/2 the money) so we didn't push it any further with the manager. But if I were you, I'd avoid this place based on the horrible customer service alone.

Historic, colonial-style hotel north of downtown attracts groups and families. In Short
Centrally located in San Diego-not too far from the zoo, downtown or the beaches-the Lafayette's location on El Cajon Boulevard makes it an attractive spot for convention groups and tourists. Enter through the hotel's massive white columns and find a pool, sun deck, fitness center, free internet access and meeting room facilities. Entertainment is offered nightly at the lobby "L" lounge and the Red Fox Steak House next door. Extended stays are available.
