On our recent trip to NYC, we dropped into Jimmy's Corner not having a clue what we had stumbled into. Being huge sports fans, my Father, brother and I were very familiar with who Jimmy Glenn was and was pleasantly surprised to find out that we had landed in his bar. The drinks were great and cheap compared to the ridiculous prices we had been paying at the other bars we dropped into. The service was the best and friendliest that we experienced on our entire trip to NYC. Mr. Glenn and his wife (whom we were told afterwards, nevers has her picture taken with anyone) Both took the time out of there day to snap a picture with us and just make a little small talk. Mrs. Glenn served up our drinks and Mr. Glenn sat and visited with us like we were long time friends. If you are in NYC you have to make it by this bar and have a drink or two and just check out the warm atmosphere and some of the coolest people in New York. The BEST bar by far!!!
Pros: Good atmosphere, great drinks and cheap prices, best Jukebox around, A+ customer service
Cons: not enough room to hold as many people that would like to be there, he needs even more space

It definitely wasn't what we were expecting when we read the reviews, but it is as stated a small little local bar, a definite break from the Times Square feel that Midtown usually offers. A very friendlys staff, very reasonable drink prices but a very unusual crowd. It could have just been the night we were in there, but the atmosphere was almost a little bit scary.

Yeah, it's a tight fit but it's packed with good company and lots of fun! It's like a neighborhood bar hidden right here in crazy Times Square. If you're looking for a big comfy couch to sip your martini...this isn't the place for you! Drinks are cheap, folks are friendly and the jukebox is the best in NYC. A little tip: even though there are tons of boxing paraphernalia on the walls, don't sleep this is really a baseball bar at heart.

Cheapest drinks in NYC. Great location, good conversation. No food, but "snacks" are plenty. A good place to watch the game, talk football and absorb the atmosphere. Highly Recommended. Mb

Nothing has provoked me to write an on-line review until my friend was thrown out of Jimmy's Corner for no reason. When my friend first entered the bar (at the recommendation of a friend of mine), Jimmy said he had "had too much," but my friend had never retorted and was perfectly lucid and affable - Jimmy never really specified what had set him off. It's too bad - the bar had cheap drinks and the vibe was compelling - but the best thing for this place would be a good conflagration. What a waste of decent Midtown space.
Pros: Decent vibe, cheap drinks
Cons: Owner is a waste of good oxygen

Jimmy's is the best, a nice pub to just chill out and get away from all those tourists. Highly recommended for blue collar, salt o' the earth folks. Let those posers and bulimic sluts go to 40/40 and snort junk of the bar.

I just attended a corporate gathering at this bar and the owner was quite intoxicated. He asked me to move my chair over so he could get to the bathroom. I moved but it wasn't good enough. So in return, the drunken owner threw me, a 110 lb girl out of the bar because he coudln't navigate through chairs. Don't ever go there....not cool....and you might get thrown out due to the dietary complications of the owner...the "great trainer." Whatever.

My husband and I are living in Baltimore now and we wanted to find a place that reminds of our favorite place, Fell's Point. The NYC guide had this place as the #1 dive bar. We knew what that meant, that it has it's own character and is usually cheaper than other places. So we went there twice during our four day trip and we met some nice people. The place is small but if you are looking for something different and casual among all the hustle and bustle of NYC, this is a good place.
Pros: service, inexpensive for NYC, good location
Cons: space

We go to New York every year, and our son found Jimmy's Corner 8 years ago, and every year we make it back. Jimmy Glenn is a true gentleman, and if you can get him to sit still long enough to tell his stories you are in for a treat, the staff is great, the drinks are cheap, and we always meet a lot of great people from all over the world. Not one complaint from anyone we met, see you next year Jimmy.

i visit nyc every year and this is by far the best bar i've been in. it's just off times sq but once inside you can just chill out. it's got a great jukebox, really friendly staff - jimmy's one of the nicest guys i've met. the beer is cold and cheap and although i may be one, there are hardly ever any tourists inside. it may get a little crowded sometimes, but it adds to the atmosphere. in my opinion, the best bar in manhattan (and i've been in quite a few!). can't wait 'til i'm back again.
Pros: friendly, inexpensive
